Long day

Today was a long day. It started out with my alarm going off at 9:30 (and as you can tell from my last post I went to bed late). I got up and took a shower and got all ready for the day and headed off to class. I wanted to send an email to my POL S section so I was running a little late and decided to skip my POL S class (it’s worthless anyway). I went to OUGL and checked out a room like I said I would do in my email. Then I justed chilled in OUGL until my next class (Physics) was about to start. 10 minutes before the bell rang I decided to take advantage of the $1.00 Odwall’s at by george (turns out mango tango is pretty good). Then i walked over to physics.

I arrived early to physics. Seth came in and sat next to me. We talked during the class a little because we were both bored out of our minds. He called his mom to wish her a happy birthday during the lecture which I found rather amusing. We answered both clicker questions right so it was at least worth attending class but Professor Fain sure is a boring character. He wore a pink button-up shirt and a conductor’s hat (he always wears a conductor’s hat). After physics I booked it over to Smith for my math 307 midterm. On the way into the building I decided to get a soda. There was a girl standing at the pop machine having trouble w/ her bill. She said “give it a shot” so I did. Then I realized it was Dana. I said hi to her and explained that I had a midterm and what not and then got change from the candy machine to buy my soda. We left saying nice to see ya and I hurried into my midterm.

I was 30 seconds early but he had already handed out the test. I got out my pencil and note sheet and got busy. It seemed pretty easy except one problem that I know I totally messed up on (I approached it with the wrong strategy). The best I can get is therefore a 90% (that question was worth 5 points). Half-way through the test the instructor made it clear though that it was harder than he had intended and that he would take that into consideration when grading it. I guess thats a good thing. Hopefully I didn’t make any stupid mistakes.

After the test I went out into the quad w/ Tri to see if Karl was still wearing foil and protesting Larouche. To my surprise, not only Karl was there but also, Vu, Jon, Joe, Schmeller, Jason, Nolan, Shea and Matt. It was cool to see all the KA’s there on campus, many wearing foil hats to stop the mindreading (or whatever the larouche people claim). Karl and Vu had funny sayings like “Where’s the B Battery’s” and “Cheney is a salamander”. It was great.

After the protests I went home for an hour or so to eat lunch. I sent another email to my section confirming the room for the meeting later that night. After that I took off for my physics make-up lab. On the way to the lab I decided to get some coffee at by george (I’m all over by george today). The coffee was great! It woke me up for the lab.

My lab partner’s name was Jason. He was a pretty cool guy. We worked pretty quickely even though we did lots of the experiments a few times to recheck results and the like. We complimented eachother pretty well because we both picked up where the other left off. We finished a few minutes early which was good because it gave me some time for dinner.

I went to China First and got a table by myself (I never eat alone). It was kind of overwhelming having three chinese ladies all trying to take my order at once. I ordered General Tso’s chicked (what I usually get), ate about 3/4 of it and took the rest to go to meet my group at OUGL to write the third affirmative action paper.

5 People ended up showing up to do the paper. There were supposed to be 11 people in the group but I guess this is just a perfect example of social loafing. It took us over 4 hours (7:00 to 11:30) to finish our affirmative action policy. I think it came out pretty well though. I walked Sarah most of the way home and Robin all the way home (she lives in A Phi’s) and then walked the rest of the way home.

When I got here I finished my left over China First and talked to Pez and Jim for a few minutes before Vu showed up. He wanted to check the bus schedules or something. He hung out for a bit then I brushed my teeth and washed my face and went to my room. That brings me to 12:35, the time I started writing thie post. It is now almost 1:00am so I’m gonna finally go to bed. Yay for not having tutorial tomorrow (or class for the rest of the week) and being able to sleep in!!!

I’m going home Wednesday morning with Kaysie and Andrey’s riding along. It should be a fun trip. I can’t wait to go home and see Mom, Dad and Adam. I also can’t wait to see Snickers, Keole and Smokey. Anyway… enough rambling on. Time to go to bed.
